Everyone is welcome at Lislagan Cottages

Holiday makers and short breaks

Enjoy beautifully finished cottages in a peaceful rural setting, within easy reach of Ballymoney and the Causeway Coast and Glens. Wake up to birdsong, spend your days exploring beaches, cliff paths and heritage sites, then return to your own cosy base at Lislagan.

Families with or without additional needs

Lislagan offers room to breathe. With 11 acres of space, nature on the doorstep, a play area and community garden, families can slow down, reconnect and enjoy simple time together. We especially welcome families who need calm surroundings and clear, accessible information because of learning disabilities, autism or mental health challenges.

Groups of adults with learning disabilities

As a user‑led charity, CAN has many years’ experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. Our cottages offer a respectful, inclusive place to stay where groups can relax, enjoy the outdoors and feel at home — with space for support staff and carers too.

Three cottages, three stories

  • Iris’ Cottage – the farmhouse

Our largest cottage, Iris’ Cottage is the beautifully restored original farmhouse, full of character and warmth. Sleeps 4–6 in two bedrooms, with a separate dining room, kitchen and bathroom, and interiors curated using previously loved, quirky pieces by BellaJo Interiors in Ballycastle.

  • Hayley’s Nook – the stables studio

Once the stables, now a calm studio‑style retreat. Hayley’s Nook sleeps 2 in a large double, with space for a cot or pull‑out bed, a generous disability‑friendly wet room and an easy, open layout ideal for guests who value accessibility and simplicity.

  • Moody’s Barn – the converted barn

Moody’s Barn combines original barn features with contemporary comfort. It offers an open‑plan kitchen and sleeping area with exposed brickwork and a disability‑friendly wet room, plus a cosy mezzanine level that can accommodate up to 2 children, with a cot bed available if needed.

Space to breathe

All guests at Cottages at Lislagan can enjoy access to several acres of green space, a play area and a community garden on the wider Lislagan Farm site. There is room to wander, sit with a coffee, listen to the birds or simply enjoy being outdoors together.

Each cottage has its own private garden, outdoor seating and BBQ area, plus allocated parking — including two blue badge bays close to the cottages — to make arrivals and departures easier for guests with mobility needs.

Every stay helps build something bigger

With the purchase of Lislagan Farm, CAN has taken a bold step towards creating Northern Ireland’s first nature‑based therapeutic and respite village. Lislagan is already home to education projects, horticulture and community activities, and over time will grow into a place where people of all ages can rest, learn and belong.

Cottages at Lislagan is Phase 1 of that vision. Income from every stay helps strengthen CAN’s long‑term sustainability and supports Phase 2, which will see a further five units developed on site. By choosing Lislagan for your break, you are directly supporting this future.

A peaceful base for the North Coast

Lislagan Farm sits on the outskirts of Ballymoney in County Antrim, giving you the best of both worlds: a tranquil rural setting and easy access to shops, services and transport. From here, it is straightforward to reach the Causeway Coast and Glens, a holiday destination on Northern Ireland’s north coast and part of the iconic Causeway Coastal Route.

You’ll be well placed for exploring beaches, cliff walks, castles, Game of Thrones® locations and, of course, the Giant’s Causeway UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as enjoying local food and drink from a region recognised as a foodie destination.

Thoughtful details, sustainable choices…

All three cottages are new to the rental market in 2026 and finished to a high standard.

Guests can enjoy access to a play area, community garden and wider green space around Lislagan Farm.

Each cottage has allocated parking, with two blue badge bays close to the cottages.

Interiors are furnished with locally sourced and reclaimed items where possible, with any new pieces chosen from local suppliers using sustainable materials.

The cottages are heated using air source heat pumps, supported by our on‑site solar system, reflecting CAN’s commitment to caring for the environment as well as people.
