Inclusive stays at Lislagan
Cottages at Lislagan has been created by Compass Advocacy Network (CAN), a user‑led charity of people with a learning disability. Inclusion is not an add‑on — it’s at the heart of who we are and what Lislagan is becoming.
We particularly welcome:
Families with children or adults who have learning disabilities, autism, ADHD or mental health challenges.
Groups of adults with learning disabilities and their support staff.
Carers who need a restful break in a setting that understands the pressures they carry.
Designed with real people in mind
Lislagan Farm is already used by CAN projects as a safe, inclusive space for education, social activities and wellbeing. The cottages sit within this wider 11‑acre site, giving guests access to nature, gardens and outdoor space which can be grounding and calming for many people.
Features that may help you decide if Lislagan is right for your group include:
Quiet rural setting with limited passing traffic.
Open green spaces and walking areas on site.
Play area and community garden.
Private, self‑contained cottages so you can control your own environment.
Disability‑friendly wet rooms in two cottages.
Blue badge parking bays close to the cottages.
Many families caring for children and adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs find it hard to take a break. CAN knows this from our day‑to‑day work across the North Coast, where we support hundreds of individuals and families each year.
At Lislagan, we aim to provide a calmer environment with clear information, friendly communication and the reassurance that your hosts understand additional needs. If specific adaptations or arrangements would make your stay easier, please tell us when you enquire and we will do our best to help.
For families who need a gentler pace
We welcome bookings from supported living providers, day opportunities schemes, short break services and community groups who support adults with learning disabilities and associated needs.
Our cottages are well‑suited to small groups, and our team at CAN can work with you to ensure your stay is planned safely, with appropriate risk assessments and practical arrangements in place. Enquire early if you have particular accessibility or staffing considerations so we can advise on which cottage configuration will work best.
